Rodolfo Padilla grew up learning and living his art at his father's ceramic studio.
In 1981 he won a scholarship to study
ceramic design and materials in Japan and then went on to continue his
studies in Argentina and Italy. RodoPadilla has presented his work
at a number of expositions in Japan, Europe, South America, Mexico and
the United States. He is an accomplished ceramicist, painter and sculptor.
After mastering the technique of high-fired ceramics, Padilla's process includes firing the piece at high
temperatures, letting it dry for a couple of days, removing the rough edges and then applying a lead-free
glaze creating the appearance of it dripping before firing it again for a shorter period of time.
Currently Padilla divides his daily work time to several studios where he sculpts, creates new designs and
oversees the production of the unique stoneware tableware pieces. Many of the timeless Mug Tree designs still offered today and unique glazes owe their creative design origins from Rodo Padilla. The happy result of their relationship is the continuation of the
ever popular Mug Tree and Accessories line by Padilla and the fabulous
square tableware designs and bold new glazes from Prado that can be seen
at Blaze International.
